Thanks to all our members who gave donations during our membership drive in early October! We appreciate the support! Welcome to our new members. Due to circumstances beyond our control, we were off the air in some areas during some times of our drive. Additionally, the drive fell during the government shutdown. We know that was a problem for some of our listeners (many of you donated anyway). At any rate, as we are finishing up paperwork here, we find the last drive came in a little under many previous drives. We need to close that gap before we have to submit some additional paperwork. We will be hosting a 1 day on-air funder drive on Friday, Nov. 22. If you were unable to give during Oct 2-6, or are willing and able to give again, we could use the extra boost right at this time. We are thankful for all our supporters. If you are thankful for KCHU and are able to show your thankfulness with a financial support, please give during our 1 DAY ON AIR FUNDER DRIVE on FRIDAY, NOV 22, 2013.

Last Saturday was a cloudy, but not rainy, RHR Music and Arts Festival. Along with having a lot of fund, money was raised for KCHU and Friends of the Valdez Animal Shelter. Thanks to all the volunteers, musicians, and sponsors

KCHU staff members, Danny Sparrell, and Lanette Oliver, our new Development Director, traveled to Cordova Thursday, July 25th, for the Copper River Wild Salmon Festival. Danny was accompanied by his wife, Lisa, and daughter, Serafina. The group took the Chenega ferry and while on board were treated to a personal tour of the bridge by Chief Engineer, Bert Stammerjohan. Serafina’s favorite part was sitting in the “big Chair” and talking with Bert on the walkies-talkie! The group would like to thank their hosts in Cordova – board member, Liz Senear; Allen and Susanna Marquette; and Barclay Kopchak.
