• VOLUNTEERS SOUGHT FOR FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

Are you a KCHU member who has always wanted to get involved?  Here’s a chance to get your feet wet.  The Fundraising Committee is looking for members from all the communities in the Prince William Sound and the Copper River Valley covered by KCHU, KXGA and KXKM Radio. The focus of this committee is to formulate an annual plan for fundraising activities, oversee implementation of that plan and recruit volunteers.  Other than membership, all you need to participate is an imagination, a commitment to attend four one-to-two hour meetings per year and communicate occasionally between meetings, and to assist in recruiting volunteers for specific activities.  There is no monetary obligation tied to committee membership and you are free to participate in events as much or as little as you feel able.  If you are interested in becoming a committee member, email gm@kchu.org with FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE in the subject line or send a private message from the KCHU Facebook page and a committee member will contact you.

Development Director, Lanette Oliver, represented KCHU at events during the Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival in Cordova, May 8-11th. While in Cordova Lanette met with current underwriters: The Net Loft, Laura’s Liquors, COPE Ministries, The Science Center, and The Barn Restaurant, and was housed by Laura’s Suites.  She also contacted businesses in Cordova that might be potential underwriters and, with the assistance of Liz Senear, KCHU Board Member, manned a booth recruiting new members and giving away shorebird coloring pages and stickers provided by KCHU. The Copper River Delta Shorebird Festival is an annual event hosted by the Cordova Chamber of Commerce, of which KCHU is a member. Lanette wishes to thank The Cordova Chamber of Commerce, The City of Cordova, Laura’s Suites, and the people and businesses of Cordova for the warm welcome and assistance.
